We research every guide from primary government sources — SASSA, the Department of Social Development and official gov.za pages. If we cannot verify a detail against an official source, we do not present it as fact.

We rewrite official information into clear, everyday English so it is easy to understand for the widest possible audience, without changing what the rules actually say.

Transparency about who we are

We state clearly on every relevant page that we are an independent resource and not SASSA or the government. We never imply an official affiliation we do not have.

No collection of sensitive data

We do not ask for or store ID numbers, banking details or grant records. When you need to act, we link you to the official SASSA service where your details stay on their systems.

Each guide shows a “last reviewed” date. We revisit content when the official sources change and update the date so you can judge how current it is.

We avoid stale specifics

Grant amounts, dates and thresholds change over time. Where a number can go out of date, we describe it qualitatively and link to the official page for the current figure rather than risk publishing an outdated one.

Our sourcing

We treat the official SASSA and South African government websites as the single source of truth. Where our guides and the official sources ever differ, the official source is correct — and we ask you to tell us so we can fix our page.
